Today, Owen woke up around 8 am and had difficulty breathing. Dave said he tried to feed him and he just wasn't taking the bottle due to his congestion. Dave wanted to bring Owen to the ER but we decided to bring him to afterhours. We made an 11:30 a.m. appointment and went there. The doctors weighed him... 16 lbs 9 oz. The doctor took his arm temperature.. 99. 8 degrees in the armpit. Owen had a fever! Poor thing! So between the fever, loss of appetite, and color of his mucus... Owen got prescribed an antibioic, amoxyicillin. Owen is to take 1/2 tsp 2x a day. He also is to continue taking Benadryl 4x a day 1/4 tsp!
Here's hoping to Owen feeling better. Owen is only sleeping in his swing and car seat now that he has to be propped up. We have the humidifier going, the vapor plug in the wall going, Vicks on his feet underneath socks, Vicks in his armpits, Eucerin on his chest/neck to treat the dry skin rash, and we gave him a bath to try and break up the mucus. I'm taking all the tips my friends told me about. He's a mess!
